The Securities Services business of BNP Paribas is one of Europe’s leading providers of custody services for securities.
The Luxembourg branch plays a major part in its operations, offering clients high value-added services extending from custody to securities lending, fund administration, performance measurement and ratings, and bond issuance services.

Private Capital – IT Engineering Associate (M/F)

CONTEXT AND CHALLENGES

BNP Paribas CIB, a subsidiary of the BNP Paribas group, is one of Europe’s leading providers of custody services for securities. 

  

The Luxembourg branch plays a major part in its operations, offering clients high value-added services extending from custody to securities lending, fund administration, performance measurement and ratings, and bond issuance services.

WHAT’S YOUR DAY-TO-DAY MISSION?

You will:

  • Major (2/3): Your main responsibility will be to contribute to the development and the maintenance of our tools, in particular our in-house Python Library which is aiming at:

o   fostering innovative Clients solutions

o   relieving our operational teams from manual, Excel-intensive tasks

  • Minor (1/3): you will also contribute to other change management tasks that are within the scope of the team, such as the deployment of some BNP Paribas-Group business software / tools in Luxembourg

Depending on your seniority you will be expected to manage some projects / developments / prototyping autonomously based on operational needs or to work under the responsibility of a more senior colleague.

The mix of Client-focused tasks vs. internal-excellence-focused tasks may vary across time, depending on priorities set by the manager of the team.

You will be expected to work collaboratively and to provide regular updates to different instances.

Collaboration across teams and potentially across different entities is a must, so you will have the opportunity to interact and present your work to different audiences.

Your working environment 

  • You will be joining a young, diversified, and international team of professionals dedicated to constantly innovating the services provided to Private Capital clients
  • The Private Capital department has its main office in Luxembourg Kirchberg. Our open space is located on the 3rd floor of the Equinox Building.  The position is eligible for teleworking and work from the satellite offices, as per the rules defined by the Bank.
  • You will be joining the “Projects & Data Engineering Solutions” team and work also closely with all the other teams of the department.  You will also be in direct contact with our clients and with external auditors.

ARE YOU OUR FUTURE PRIVATE CAPITAL IT ENGINEERING ASSOCIATE? 

Professional experience and/or degree

–        At least bachelor’s degree in software engineering or relevant experience (at least 2 years, demonstrating object-oriented programming mastery)

–        Relevant experience in the Private Capital Funds industry is a strong plus

–        Experience in Business Change or Project Management is a plus

  • Object-Oriented Programming
  • At least good knowledge of Python (including popular libraries such as Panda, Numpy,…) and willingness to develop your programming skills in that language
  • Excel, including complex formulas and/or VBA
  • Python releases and versioning management is a strong plus 
  • Gitlab, Django or similar a plus
  • Powerpoint, Power BI, Html, Javascript, CSS and relational-databases (inc. SQL) are a plus
  • Knowledge of FIA (Front Invest Alternative) software 

Language skills

Fluent in English; French, German/other languages will be considered as an asset.

During the finalization of the recruitment process, the preselected candidate will be asked to provide us an extract from his/her criminal record dated less than 3 months (record N°3 for Luxembourg), according to the dispositions of the law from July 23 2016 concerning the criminal record.
