BGL BNP Paribas’s lux future lab received on 22.09.2014 the visit of the Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit.
On the occasion of his official visit to Luxembourg, the Governing Mayor of Berlin attended a presentation on the Luxembourg start-ups ecosystem. Lux future lab had invited to this meeting the major actors of the environment.
On the public side, the National Government Agency for Innovation (Luxinnovation) and the incubator Technoport spoke about the Government’s efforts to accompany start-ups while PwC’s Accelerator and lux future lab represented the private initiatives and support. All four speakers stressed the excellent cooperation and coordination of the various Luxembourgish actors making the local ecosystem – though small compared to larger places such as Berlin, London or Paris – a highly dynamic one.
The BGL BNP Paribas’s lux future lab launched in 2012, now hosts 14 start-ups (> 140 entrepreneurs) from France, Belgium, USA, Israel, Denmark, India/UK and of course Luxembourg, working in areas as diverse as IT & ICT, social media, Fintech, Medical services, electronic payments, e-publishing etc.
Mayor Wowereit was accompanied, among others, by the Luxembourgish Ambassador in Berlin HE Georges Santer and the Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Berlin Mr. Yan Eder.
Carlo Thill, CEO of BGL BNP Paribas, welcomed the illustrious guests and Karin Schintgen presented the lux future lab’s vision to impact the social & economic change of Luxembourg by supporting the development of a dynamic start-ups environment.
