Alphonse Weicker Foundation

The aim of the Alphonse Weicker Foundation, founded in 1989 and chaired by Kik Schneider, a member of BGL BNP Paribas’ Management Board, is to promote scientific research. It organises specialised conferences and seminars and sponsors research projects in areas as varied as biomolecular research, health, IT, politics, etc. With the Alphonse Weicker Foundation, BGL BNP Paribas is able to continue carrying out the important role played by the bank since 1919 in the economic and social development of Luxembourg.

 

Alphonse Weicker Foundation Prize

Since 2010, every year the Alphonse Weicker Foundation has awarded a “Sustainable Economic Progress Prize” worth EUR25,000. The goal is to recognise one or a series of exceptional projects sustainably and significantly contributing to the economic progress of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
